About Profhand
Profhand is a pedaled wheelchair that uses state of the art technology. Profhand is powered by the legs, not hands, like conventional wheelchairs. Even if users have become paralyzed due to a stroke, suffer lower back pain, hip/knee joint pain, or have lost the use of one side of their body, they are able to use Profhand.
※This world's first leg powered wheelchair has been developed by Tohoku University Graduate School of Medicine: Professor Yasunobu Handa and his colleages.
If a person has partial use of their feet, there is a possibility that they are able to pedal this wheelchair with their feet.

On longer distances, the rider can train their muscles more effectively and improve their coordination without even knowing it. While maintaining a comfortable speed equal to a brisk walk, exercise and mobility becomes effortless.

With implementation of a flip-up armrest, getting off the chair to the bed, or vice versa is done very easily.

With implementation of a front and rear steering mechanism, the rider can make a complete turn on the spot. Changing direction can be done freely and comfortably at home, on an elevator, and in the tightest of places.

With implementation of flip-up auxiliary wheels, the chair has been designed so that it prevents falling over, upon getting onto or while in motion. Profhand uses efficient and effective disc brakes as a safety measure to slow, or stop the vehicle suddenly if necessary.
